Reminders tabsPro
Your Reminders lists in a tab, to add to, edit and check off. Changes go straight back to Reminders.
Brink Pro. Reminders tabs are part of Brink Pro, which you can try free for 14 days.
Set up
A reminders tab shows your lists from the Reminders app (iCloud, On My Mac, or an Exchange account with Reminders turned on in System Settings › Internet Accounts). What you change in Brink goes straight back to Reminders, and on to your other devices.
Choose Reminders in the “+” menu (R on the New Tab page). The first time, macOS asks whether Brink may use Reminders. If you said no, the tab offers Open Privacy Settings: turn on Brink in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Reminders. macOS then asks to quit and reopen Brink.
Choose a list
The button at the top left picks what the tab shows: one of your lists, Today (due today or overdue) or Scheduled (everything with a due date, soonest first). Each tab remembers its choice. There’s one reminders tab per pane, but tabs in different panes can show different lists.
What you see
Open reminders first, then a New reminder row, then a Completed section, folded at first, with what you completed in the last two weeks. Each reminder shows its priority (! to !!!), its due date (red when overdue) and the first line of its notes. The header counts what’s open and overdue.
Add, edit and check off
Reminders work like a task list:
- Type in New reminder and press Return to add one. In Today and Scheduled, new reminders go to your default list, due today.
- Click a reminder to select it; click again (or double-click) to edit its title. Return finishes and moves on to a new reminder; Escape stops editing, and a second Escape hides the panel.
- Check a reminder off, or back on, with its checkbox, Space, or ⌘↩.
- With a reminder selected, the area below the list shows its Due date (with an optional time, At) and its Notes, to change.
- ⌘Z undoes your changes in Brink, adding a reminder included.
Your own order
In a list, drag open reminders into the order you want. Brink keeps that order, but only in Brink: macOS doesn’t let other apps change Reminders’ own order, so your iPhone keeps its order. Today and Scheduled go by due date.
Clear Completed
Clear Completed, at the top right, deletes completed reminders from Reminders on all your devices, after asking. In a list it deletes every completed one; in Today and Scheduled, the ones shown. ⌘Z brings them back, though without their subtasks, tags, flags or images.
What Brink can’t do
macOS doesn’t give other apps Reminders’ subtasks, sections, tags or flags, so lists show flat, without them. Deleting a single reminder isn’t possible in Brink yet: do that in Reminders.
The tab follows changes you make in Reminders or on other devices, and keeps up with the clock: reminders turn overdue as their time passes, and Today moves on at midnight.
